Barry L. Brown, 80 of Cumru Twp.., Reading, PA., passed away on December 24th at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon L. (White) Brown, married 47 years. Born in Reading, PA., he was the son of the late Harry D. Brown, Sr., and the late Loretta E. (Ray) Brown. Barry had been a graduate of Muhlenberg High School. He had served our Country in the US Army from 1966-1971. Barry was an active member with and musician for the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of South 7th St., Reading. He also had taught Sunday School for many years with the church. Barry was last know for playing Jazz Guitar with the Frank McCracken band for over 30 years, where he last played with them as the house band of the Double Tree Hotel of Reading at Cheers American Bistro. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harry D. Brown, Jr., Carol Brown, Stanley Brown, Richard Brown and Gerald Brown; Sisters, Joyce Himmelreich, Sandra Brown, Shirley Brown Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Stefanie L wife of Jerry. Laboranti, Robesonia, PA, Cassondra M. wife of Brett Trantham, Lexington, NC.; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons. Memorial Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 436 S 7th St., Reading, PA. Rev. Jerry Jones, Officiating. Relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the church.
