John J. Preneta

John J. Preneta, 72 of Shenandoah, passed away on September 2, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.  He was the husband of the late Susan M. (Steele) Preneta.  Born in Pottsville, PA., he was the son of the late Walter and Eleanore (Stack) Preneta.  He was a US Navy Veteran serving six years of service.  John was a graduate of North Schuylkill class of 1969.   John was a huge Eagles and Phillies fan and never missed a sporting event that his kids had played in.  He is predeceased by two grandchildren. Surviving is one daughter, Jennifer L. wife of Joseph Palko, Freeland, PA; two sons, James W. Preneta, Shenandoah, John J. Preneta, Jr., Nazareth, PA; one brother, Joseph W. Preneta, Frackville, PA;  3 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson.  Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 11th at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah.  Family and friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the church.  Interment will be at Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.  Online photos and memories can be shared with the family at www.markjhummelfunerlhome.com  MARK J HUMMEL Funeral Home, 48 N Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville has charge of arrangements.
