Peter L. Sigmund

Peter L. Sigmund, 61 of Reading, passed away on Nov. 11th in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late LeRoy and Patricia (Wilson) Sigmund.  He was the owner and operator of Red Dragon Karate School of Reading for many years.  He is predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Sigmund, sister, Tina Marie Sigmund.  Surviving are Two daughters  , Essence Lewis, of Reading, PA; Alexsis Sigmund and one Son Ryan Sigmund , One brother, Frederick Sigmund, Shillington, PA.; 7 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson, a host of nephew's, niece's ,great nephews and great nieces. Peter was well known in the community as a father figure to many. Peter opened his door to anyone who was willing to learn the art of Martial Arts and Self Defense, especially children. children that were in need of a positive role model and father figure. These kids always had a place to go and shoulder to lean on. Peter was well known for his art and skill of  fans in weapons most known as katas ,  he also placed  for  brick breaking in Guinness book of world records. He lived for teaching Martial Arts and Self defense. His contagious laugh and silly jokes and stories he told  will be cherished always.  Peter enjoyed being around his Family, especially his Dojo Family. Family is asking that any donations please be made directly to Mark J Hummel Funeral Home Inc located at 934 Centre Ave Reading, Pa 19601 flowers will also be accepted with a following date for his  (Celebration of Life)  Memorial Services   Memorial services will be announced by the family.
