Rev. Francis T. Gera

Rev. Francis T. Gera, 86 of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Frackville, PA., passed away on June 11, 2025 at William Childs Hospice House of Palm Pay, FL.  Father Gera was born in Raven Run, PA., and the son of the late George and Theresa (Sylvasi) Gera.  Father Gera was a graduate of Frackville High School and had attended seminary of SS Cyril & Methodius in Pittsburgh, PA, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Duquesne University.  Ordained June 7, 1964, he served as assistant to St. Michael's Cathedral, Passaic, NJ., Holy Spirit Binghamton, NY and Pastor of St. Michael's Allentown, PA, Holy Ghost, Philadelphia, PA, and St. Mary's Hazelton, PA, Holy Dormition, Ormond Beach, FL.  Upon retiring assisting Patronage B.C. Church, Arbutus, MD.  He is predeceased by his siblings, George, Paul, Joseph, and Nicholas Gera, Mary Kowatch, Mary Hollick, Elizabeth "Betty" Prock, John, Andrew and Michael Gera.  He is survived by Michael Gera, John Gera, Barbara Darvell and many other Nieces and Nephews, Great Nephews and Nieces.  

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM followed by Parastas at 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 131 S Morris St., St. Clair, PA.  Additional viewing will be  be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 8:30 to 9:00 AM followed by Parastas at 9:00 AM with Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM at church. 

 Interment will be at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church Cemetery, Shenandoah, PA.  In lieu of flowers memorials you may offer a Divine Liturgy or Donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org  Online photos or memories can be shared with Fathers family at markjhummelfuneralhome.com
