Thomas Hain Obituary

Deeply missed by his family and friends, Thomas R. Hain, 75, peacefully passed away in his sleep in Morgantown, PA on Friday, October 20, 2023.   Tom was born December 3, 1947 to William and Thelma Hain in Shamokin, PA.  As the second of three sons, he graduated from Pottstown High School during the Vietnam Era and decided to enlist into the US Navy.  Upon completion, he attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey, PA and retired from the police force. He spent much of his retirement researching the Bible, sailing the Chesapeake Bay, scheduling travel adventures, exploring exhibits at the museums while showing others the love of God.  His enjoyment of photography was only exceeded by his skills at wood working restoration and hunting for elusive antiques. He will be remembered by his brothers and their wives: William and Nancy Hain and Kim and Sue Hain, daughters: Tracy and husband Jay Heil, Elizabeth and husband Alan Gephart and Catherine and husband Bill Achor.  His smile, lessons and memories are held dearly by his 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara (Lawser) and both of his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tiny WPA, 4017 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia Pa 19104.  Named after Franklin D Rosevelt’s Works Progress Administration, Tiny WPA focuses on youth led community design improvement projects.   No services will be listed per Tom's final requests.  Online photos and memories can be shared with his family at www.cramp-hummelfunerlahome.com  CRAMP HUMMEL Funeral Home, Centre Ave., Reading, has charge of his arrangements. www.cramp-hummelfunerlahome.com
