Violet S. (Poznak) Burkert

Violet S. Burkert, 94 of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Dec. 19th in her residence. She was the wife of the late George A. Burkert, who passed away in 2014.  Born in Nanticoke, PA., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Violet (Korper) Poznak.  Violet was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Reading.  She was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.  Surviving are her children, Kevin G. husband of Ann Burkert, Muhlenberg Twp., PA, Sandra wife of Pete Baney, Leesport, PA, Dianna Hoffa, Reading, PA; one sister, Marlene Hughes; 5 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Cramp Hummel Funeral Home, 934 Centre Ave., Reading.  Rev. Carol Kehler, officiating.  A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
