Wayne Newman Obituary

Wayne R. Newman, 71 of Shillington, passed away on September 28th in the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Born in Uniontown, PA., he was the son of the late Roland and Romana (Abayan) Newman.  He had been employed for Supportive Concepts For Families, Inc..  Surviving are three sons, Roland W. Newman II, Denver, PA, Wayne Newman II, Shillington, PA, Phillipe Newman, West Reading, PA.; daughter, Jessica Newman-Kegerise, Exeter Twp., PA; brother, Vernon Newman; sister, Jeanne Newman; 10 grandchildren. As a child, Wayne attended Mt. Olivet SDA church school in Camden, NJ.  During his early high school years, he was a student at Toledo (Ohio) Jr./Sr. high school before he and his family moved to Pennsylvania where he graduated from Pine Forge Academy in 1969.  He furthered his educational pursuit of higher learning by attending Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) in Takoma Park, MD before eventually completing his studies at Reading Area Community College as a medical technician.   He enjoyed following and cheering on Philadelphia professional sports teams including the Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, and Flyers.  He was a lover of a capella music and found joy singing with his family members in their a capella musical group, Unity.  He loved his children and his grandchildren very much.  Most importantly, Wayne was a man of devoted faith who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Wayne will be dearly missed and always remembered.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 6th at 10 am at the Kenhorst Boulevard SDA church in Reading, PA.  In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) at https://donations.adra.org.  Online photos and memories can be shared at www.cramp-hummelfuneralhome.com
