Frank A. Zuercher, 78 of Auburn, Schuylkill County, PA., passed away on March 20th in his residence.  He was the husband of Victoria J. REV. HARRY A. KISSINGER

Rev. Harry A. Kissinger, 88, passed away on Dec. 26th in Phoebe Berks, Wernersville, PA.  He was the husband of the late Carolyn (Kratz) Kissinger and the late Marian (Griffith, Haas) Kissinger.  Born in Lykens, PA., he was the son of the late Jonathan A. and Edna (Rowe) Kissinger.  He was  a graduate of Lykens High School in 1947, Catawba College, Salisbury, NC in 1951, and Lancaster Seminary in 1954.  Rev. Kissinger's career included service to fourteen Pennsylvania  churches.  HE began as a pastor of his first four churches from 1953-1958 in Penn Central Confrence Nittany Valley Charge which included Rirst Reformed Church in Howard, Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed in jacksonville, Mout Bethel E&R in Mill Hall, Salona E&R in Salona.  He continued his service in 1958-1961 from Emmanuel United Church of Christ in New Berlin, Drisbach UCC in Lewisburg, Erdley UCC in Middleburg, Immanuel UCC in Penns Creek, St. John's UCC in Dry Valley.  He then served three union churches from 1961-1965 for the Egypt UCCi n Egypt, St. John's  UCC in Laurey's Station, St. Paul's UCC in Cementon.  He then served Old Zionsville UCC, Old Zionsville, PA from 1969-1987, Jerusalem UCC, Trachsille 1987 until he retired in 1996.  He was pre-deceased by four sisters, Sara E. Kissinger, Myrtle Esterline, Ruth Kissinger, Doris Linder; one brother, Carl Kissinger; one daughter, Judith Haas.  Surviving is one brother, Harold Kissinger, Labanon, PA; two sons, Kenneth Kisinger, PA, David A. Haas, Port Matlda, PA; two daughters, Susan C. JAMES L. "JIM" FIFER

James L. "Jim" Fifer, 81 of Exeter Twp., passed away on Nov. 12th in his residence. He was the widower of Violet L. (Mallon) Minnick and Barbar L. (Lamont) Fifer. Born in Chester, PA., he was the son of the late George W. and Sarah C (Robb) Fifer.  Jim was a graduate of Chester High School.  He was pre deceased by one brother, Calvin Fifer.  He had worked as a truck driver for several employers over the years including Acme Markets, Upper Darby Twp, and the state of New Jersey from which he retired.  Surviving are two daughters, Janice Kelly Rigg, Exeter Twp., Earline "Ruby" Fifer, Richlands, NC; one son, Richard L. MELVIN R. PARKER, SR.

Melvin R. Parker, Sr., 70 of West Reading, died Nov 9th in his residence. Born in Parkersburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Herman M. and Eula K. (Brown) Parker.  He was a US Marine Corps Veteran.  Melvin had worked for the New Cumberland Army Depo for over 25  years until he retired, and then later worked as a forklift operator.  Surviving is one son, Melvin R. Parker, Jr.,; one daughter, Vicki H. Sterling J. Yocom, Jr., 59 of Exeter Twp., Reading, passed away on October 23rd in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Pottstown, PA., he was the son of Sterling J. Yocom, Sr. and Shirley (Gebhard) Yocom of Pottstown, PA.  Sterling was a graduate of Pottsgrove High School Class of 1977 and of Slippery Rock College.  Sterling was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pottstown.  He was employed by Gudebrod Co. of Pottstown as a Supervisor and then with Dunning Corp. of Pughtown.  He was pre-deceased by one son, Daniel Dustin Yocom and one brother, Joseph Yocom.  Surviving in additon to his Father and Mother is one son, Sterling James Yocom, III, York, PA; one brother, Ted Yocom, Exeter Twp., PA; one granddaughter, Arianna Heimback.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., Pottstown. Dr. Charles K. John M. "Jack" Townsend, 61 of Exeter Twp., passed away on June 26th in the Rading Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen B. Judy K. Fisher, 71 of the Villa St. Elizabeth, passed away on June 15th in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Baytown, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Orvile R. and Ethyl M. (Lawless) Smith.  An avid Pianist from a young age, Judy Excelled at music.  She was the Pianist for the Wyomissing High School's spring musical for many years in the 90.s  She also learned the organ annd often played for her church.  Judy was a gifted teacher.  She had many piano students over the years.  Her favorite thing was to teach a simple son,  Three Frogs Hop, to new learners.She'd have you playing with two hands in your first lesson.  A funny, creative, generous woman, she will be greatly missed.  Surviving are two daughters, Heather Y. White, Pottstown, PA, Tessie L. Fisher, Durahm, North Carolina; one son, Michael R. Laura T. Carpenter, 72 of Downingtown, passed away June 9th in Brandywine Hospital.  She was the wife of Everett C. Carpenter, Sr, in which the y shared nearly 60 years together, 53 of thos years as husband and wife. Born in West Chester, PA., she was the daughter of the late Malin and Laura (Chamberlin) Clark and was a loving sister to Susan Speakman, JHummy Clark, Lee Conner, Larry Conner and the late Luis Conner.  Laura was pre deceased by a son, Edmund Carpenter.  She as a dedicated homemaker for most of her life raising 6 children and manging and evergrowing houshold.  She was an incredibly strong, loving and caring mother to her children, Eve Socks, Everett Carpenter, Jr, Edumnd Carpenter, Ellie Wright, and Emmy Shapard.  She was a very , very special 
Grammy to her 20 beautiful Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.  She was "Aunt Lolly" to so many wonderful caring nieces and newphews and a surgot mother to many animals and pets in her lifetime.  She was a caring friend to those that had the pleasure of knoing her.  She enjoyed watching the sunsets from he deck of her house boat, making crafts, caring for her animals and taking care of her home but most of all, she enjoyed doing anything that to do with her family.  If you ever had the pleaseure of knowing, Laura T. Frances Hummel, 87 of Frackville, passed away February 15th in her residence.  She was the wife of the late Walter W. Hummel, Sr.  Born in Frackville, she was the daughter of the late Florie and Margaret (Kietsock) Wilinski.  Frances was a member of First Untied Methodist Church, Frackville.  She had been a Machine Operator for Model Garment of Frackville for 27 years until she retired in 1989.  Frances was also a member of the American Legion Post 398 of Frackville, ladies auxiliary.  She was  pre deceased by two sisters, Dorothy Rice, Joan O' Boyle; one brother Floyd Wilinski.  Surviving is one son, Walter W. husband of Roaslie M. Albert J. “Bob” Fondots, 82 of Flying Hills., passed away on Jan. 23rd at the Reading Hospital.  He was the husband of Joan M. (Moran) Fondots, who had been married since 1955.  Born in Bryn Mawr, PA., he was the son of the late Angelo A. and Margaret L. (Schreck) Fondots. Pre deceased are two sons, Thomas Fondots, Robert Fondots; Great Granddaughter, Alexa Davidson; two brothers, Harry Joe Fondots, Anthony “Skip” Fondots.  Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Ann Therese Fondots, Angela Lauria; Grandchildren, Eric Bragg, Nichole Bragg, Rachael Lauria, Patrick Lauria, Allison Lauria-Kessler; 5 Great Grandchildren.  He was member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Mohnton, where he was a member of the Primetimer’s Club for almost a decade.He loved cooking spaghetti dinners, organizing club events, and compiling creative, heart-warming videos of the church senior bus trip adventures.   He was US Navy Veteran,  Bob attended Fleet Sonar School Florida, rising to the rank of Sonarman Third Class before discharge.  For 25 years he was employed by Alan Wood Steel Company, in Conshohocken.  Bob earned high school credits and a Degree in Business/Accounting in 1973.  Bob earned his Real Estate Salesman's License, and soon thereafter, an Appraiser License and Certification. Bob enjoyed many activities, his favorites being bass fishing, pool and golf (Member of the "Hole-In-One Club").  He became a Docent for Berks County Museum, volunteered for Special Olympics andalso served as president of the Norristown Ambucs.Bob most outstanding qualities were his dedication to his "bride", "Joanie Me Love", Bob's laser sharp wit, strength, tenacity, love of the arts, generosity, unique creative talents, sense of responsibility and dedication to assuring those he loved, cared for and interacted with felt included in his contagious humor and singing fests.The family wishes to acknowledge and especially thank all who assisted with Bob's care, including, Dr Bertrand High, Dr. Scott Horner, Bayada Hospice staff , Rebecca, Nicole, Amy, and Ericka; and In-Home Caregiver Jennifer Rivera. JEAN E. STODART

Jean E. Stodart, 84, of Sinking Spring, passed away on July 8, 2016 at Reading Hospital following heart surgery. She was born January 21, 1932 in DuBois, PA to George F. and Mildred L. (Smith) Solley and grew up in Curwensville, Clearfield County, PA near the entrance to the famous Bilger’s Rocks.  Jean attended a one-room school house along Anderson Creek Hill Road during the early years of her education.  Her best early memories were of playing at her grandmother Susanna Solley’s house and with her beloved neighbors, Buzz and Virgie Michaels. She married Francis B. Stodart in Houtzdale, PA in 1951 and they lived briefly in Niagara Falls, NY, before returning to her husband’s hometown of Madera, PA, a place she dearly loved.  There she was a volunteer election poll worker, a Girl Scout leader, and cared for her parents, neighbors, and in-laws and raised her family.  In October 1992 she moved to Sinking Spring, PA to be nearer her four children. Jean is survived by her children, Diane T., wife of James Yarger; Marilyn L., wife of Donald Faughner; Kevin F. Stodart; and Hugh C. Stodart all of Sinking Spring, PA.  In addition are her grandchildren Courtney N. and Jacob T. Stodart, and former daughter-in-law, Teresa Stodart of Olanta, PA.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Linda Guerin and Sally Villar, all of Niagara Falls, NY, and her cat, Dollie. Jean enjoyed her trip to Disney World in 1986, a fond memory that lasted her lifetime.  She loved animals and was a volunteer with Save A Yorkie Rescue.  She was a Methodist, an organ donor, and a lifelong Democrat.  Jean was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Ruth Avanell Bennett and Dorothy Lubert, and a nephew, Joe Conrad.  After cremation, Jean will be interred beside her husband in the Immaculate Conception cemetery in Madera, PA following a memorial service to be held at the convenience of the family.  Donations can be made in Jean’s memory to your local PBS station in support of Nature programming, which she loved, or the animal shelter of your choice.  MARK J. JoANNE HUNSBERGER

JoAnne M. Hunsberger, 84 of Blandon, passed away on July 5th at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp.  She was the wife of the late James N. Hunsberger, celebrating 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in January, 2016.  Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Snyder) Schlegel.  She was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School.  JoAnne had worked for a Greeting Card Company for many years stocking cards at various businesses within Berks County.  She enjoyed the ocean and knitting as well as gardening. JoAnne was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Alsace Twp.  She was pre-deceased by one son, Kenneth Hunsberger; one brother, Clarence Schlegel.  Surviving are two daughters, Wendy M. Wentzel, Exeter Twp., Carol wife of Titus Wentzel, Exeter Twp; one grandson; two great grandchildren.  Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County, 529 Reading Ave., Suite C, Reading, PA. 19611.  MARK J. DANIEL W. LAMBERT

Daniel W. Lambert, 83 of Alsace Twp., passed away on July 6th in his residence.  He was the husband of the late Catherine M. (Rollman) Lambert.  Born in Independence, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Edgel and Madge (Squires) Lambert.  Daniel was a Superintendent for many Construction Companies over his career, most notably in Philadelphia area operating heavy equipment.  He served as an elder in the Reading North Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was pre-deceased by 5 brothers and one sister.   Surviving are two sons, Dan J. husband of Karen Lambert, Temple, PA, Timothy W. husband of Patricia Lambert, Kutztown, PA; one daughter, Kathy A. wife of Rick Macdonough, Muhlenberg Twp.; two brothers, Paul husband of Bernice Lambert, Marriot Ohio, Blake husband of Rita Lambert, West Virginia; two sisters, Emma Lose, Morgantown, West Virginia, Helen wife of Darryl Bosley, Georgia; 12 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren. ROBERT W. CZARNECKI

Robert W. Czarnecki, 75 of Tilden Twp., passed away on July 6th at 4:16 PM in his residence.  He was the husband of Margaret (Shibe) Czarnecki.  Born in Reading, he was the son of Catherine Czarnecki, Spring Twp.  He was a painting contractor and owner of I. Losch Inc., one of the last union painters in Berks County.  Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Robert C. Czarnecki, Shillington; one daughter, Sharon Bibbus, Muhlenberg Twp.; one step daughter, Terissia Adams, Hamburg, PA; one sister, Roberta Donaldson, Sinking Spring, PA; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren.  Funeral Services and Interment will be private.  MARK J. RICHARD JACOB EDWARDS

Richard Jacob Edwards, 80 of Muhlenberg Twp., was called home by the Lord on July 2, 2016; while surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Norma L. (Arndt) Edwards, just celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary.  Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob and Irene (Wells) Edwards.  Richard lived an amazing life.  He is survived by his loving family, wife, Norma; daughter, Jenny; sons, Peter and Juan; son-in-law, Aby; daughter- in- law, Stacy; one brother, Charles; and five grandchildren.  Richard had a big heart and was a very kind and thoughtful man.  Richard enjoyed working at Luden’s, now Hershey Company, and retired after 32 years of service.  Richard enjoyed traveling, watching races, basketball and antiquing.  He previously was the owner of Old Stuff, an antique shop in Mt. Penn, PA. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Richard was a wonderful husband, an amazing and unforgettable father and pop-pop.  Richard gave us love, hope and faith.  Corinthians 13:8 “Love Never Fails.”  Love conquers all.  Funeral Services and interment will be private.  MARK J. SANDRA KNEIPER

Sandra M. Kneiper, 68 of Reading, died on June 19th in her residence.  Born in St. Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of the late John Gierschick and Dorothy (Sailer) Manwiller.  Sandra was the Lead Singer of the Country Band the Misfits of Berks County in the 1980’s.  She is survived by two sons, Dennis Lee Nester, Hamburg, PA, David L. BETH A. RUDASILL

Beth A. Rudasill, 48 of North Coventry Twp., died April 23rd in Phoenixville Hospital.  Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Joseph W. and Betty (Sypherd) Evans of North Coventry Twp.  Beth was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School and attended two years of Trade School in Western PA.  She had been a Clock and Watch repair specialist and enjoyed Dog and House sitting.  Beth also had worked cleaning homes. Beth was a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren, Pottstown.  Surviving in addition to her parents are three sisters, Sara Evans, North Coventry Twp., Mary wife of David Dietrich, Huntington, PA, Lynn Evans, of Vermont.  She is also survived by Nieces and Nephews.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 7:30 PM in the Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Rd., Pottstown. Arlene G. Smith, 92 of Fleetwood, died April 18th in Kutztown Manor.  She was the widow of L.B. Smith.  Born in Fruita, Colorado, she was the daughter of Earl P. & Katherine A. (Bagley) Chilson.
